Isabelle Futch was born February 2, 2007 and by the time she turned 9 months
old she was already walking to keep up with her older brothers. At the age of 4, her parents couldn’t keep up with her vivacious energy and decided to try out gymnastics at the local YMCA. By the age of 5, Isabelle had already learned a straddle press handstand on the floor. At the age of 6, Isabelle moved to Auburn Gymnastics Center in Auburn, WA and was immediately placed on team competing level 3 where she earned herself 1st place at State Championships on vault with a 9.600. After competing level 4 the following year, she started training for USAG’s TOPs (Talent Opportunity Program), and at the age of 8 became 1-of-100 8 year old girls in the nation invited to participate at the National TOPs test at the National Team Training Center in TX. In two short years after coming to Auburn Gymnastics, Isabelle then worked hard and earned her spot on the level 7 optional team and began training in her club’s Elite Developmental group. Her level 7 season brought a 4th place at State Championships on bars in her age division with a 9.650. She then went on to train another season of TOPs testing, but unfortunately she did not end up qualifying to Nationals at age 9. With the dissatisfaction she felt from not qualifying TOPs, Isabelle dedicated herself to working even harder, which paid off as she competed level 8 at age 10, and earned a 9.375
2nd place tie on beam, and a 9.500 4th place on floor at State Championships where she then qualified to Regional Championships where she placed 3rd on bars with a 9.675.
Isabelle decided to try TOPs testing again and as a 10 year old and with that, after all her hard work and dedication throughout the season, earned a perfect score on beam at State TOPs testing
and almost perfect scores on bars and floor thus qualifying her again, and being 1-of-100 girls in the nation, to be invited to National TOPs testing in TX. Upon completion on the first day of testing at TOPs Nationals, her coaches announced she had been personally invited to attend the following Developmental Invitational Camp one month later!
She then went on to compete in the JO level 9 season as well as attend in the Developmental Invite camps being held. Isabelle competed level 9 State Championships and earned a 1st place tie on beam, 4th on floor, and overall 3rd place All Around in her age division, thus qualifying her to Region 2 Championships where she earned 4th on vault, 6th place All Around, and a chance to compete at Western Championships.
After Westerns, and just 20 days later, Isabelle decided to gives HOPES Elite a try and competed in her first National Elite Qualifier, where she qualified 10-11 y/o Hopes Compulsory with a 33.050 and placed 4th on bars and 4th All Around. Hopes Optionals she earned 4th on floor with a 11.250 (and first time competing her newest skill a double back), and 6th place All Around with a 42.650.
Isabelle is currently training 32 hours a week at AGC with the hopes of competing JO level 10 as a 12 y/o, as well as HOPES Elite competitions, and will be heading back to Developmental Invite Camp in November 2018.
